New York, NY, US. 6th. Mar, 2018. Every Tuesday, Indo Java, a grocery in Elmhurst, Queens, turns into one of New York City’s smallest restaurants. Chef Anastasia Dewi Tjahjadi, makes a single dish weekly for her pop-up restaurant, Warung Selasa, serving her dish from 1 to 8 p.m, along one of the two isles in the small Indonesian grocery. There are no signs alerting passers-by; customers come by word-of-mouth, from mostly fellow Indonesian immigrants in the neighborhood who are longtime fans of Ms. Tjahjadi’s from when she cooked at the nearby shuttered Java Village restaurant. The chef, opened the grocery in 2007 and started serving meals there last year, calling her pop-up restaurant Warung Selasa, or Tuesday Warung. Times Square Arts has unveiled the winner of the 10th anniversary Times Square Valentine Heart Design Competition, an annual event where Times Square Arts invites architecture and design firms to submit proposals for a public art installation celebrating Love in Times Square in February. This year winner ‘Window to the Heart’ is a collaboration by design firm ArandaLasch + Marcelo Coelho.
