Girl Scout Troop 6000, serving girls living in the New York City shelter system that captivated New Yorkers last year, held their second cookie sales event at Kellogg’s NYC Cafe on 22 April, 2019. The location, is where members had their successful inaugural sale last year with 36,000 boxes sold. Troop 6000 helps girls experiencing homelessness gain the leadership skills and confidence to go out in the world and achieve their dreams. The parade and bonnet festival was made famous by Irving Berlin's song, "Easter Parade," in 1933. Hughes broke the trans-continental speed flight record from Burbank, California to New York in 1946, piloting the plane which was delivered to TWA in 1958.
